If you want it done….

I often times say: “If you want it done, call me.  If you want it done the right way and quickly call someone else.”  I am totally serious saying this humorous line.  My latest pluming job is a perfect example.

We are slowly changing out everything from brass to antique bronze.  MAN, brass was popular in the 80’s!  The sinks are the most challenging so far.  The valves keep breaking and, well, nothing was very standardized.  When I went to install the faucets in our bathroom I realized the underneath of the sink where the faucets are is not a nice level surface.  That makes is a tad bit more difficult to install them.  But not to worry, I am a bit of a pack rat so I have plenty of things to work with.  My solution? A rubber washer cut in half and placed behind a strip of metal from a filing drawer which is then placed on the high side of the sink behind the two plastic nuts that hold the faucets in place.  The washer was the CFO’s idea.  It took me a whole day to just do our two sinks.

Think I am a little crazy?  Most people’s windows and doors are held in place by shims.  Shims are just small wedges of wood that make things fit.  I need to get me some:)

I won’t insult your intelligence by suggesting that you really believe what you just said.
