Tonight Dash helped me out. We want our kids to know that EVERYONE makes bad choices. So I told him “you know, Daddy makes bad choices too.” He nodded. Then I asked “what bad choices does Daddy make?” Dash responded “Daddy yells.” “Yes,” I responded. “Sometimes I yell and that is not nice, what else?” “Daddy makes us sad.” OK, that hurt. My response? “Yes, I do sometimes and I am sorry but sometimes the choices you make have consequences that will make you sad.”
Funny, doesn’t it work that way for all of us?
And then everything was in the hands of gravity, which has never had much love for the terminally stupid.
