I have been thinking about our trip to Disney lately. If you are a “total experience” kind of person you will Love Disney. If you are a “get’er done” kind of person it will drive you bershack. Disney is like a bottle of expensive wine. It is to be enjoyed slowly and savored…. you don’t drink it for the buzz.
Unfortunately we like the amusement park buzz:) It turns out we like the trills more than the “experience.” Don’t get me wrong, Disney does what they do better than anyone else. But they are not a cheap thrill kind of place. Let’s face it, as the CFO said “Alabama Adventures has ruined us.” You go there and there are no lines (we only went on weekdays) and lots of thrills. A lot of the rides at Disney are “experience” rides. I get it, many kids are not ready for the thrills but Bruiser put it best while on “It’s a Small World.” He said “It’s boring, but I like it.”
Yes, there are thrill rides at Disney but when it takes you 30 – 100 minutes to ride the thrill is a bit muted. They do a GREAT job with each ride the first time you ride but after that you are like “yeah, yeah, get to the good stuff.” Instead of just a regular and fast pass line they should also have a “first time” line that gives the whole experience. The rest of us get it already:)
