Parents of younger kids seem to always tell each other “it gets easier,” but does it really? Another common quote by parents of teenagers or post-teenagers say “I use to think it was tough when they were young.” So I ask myself “does it ever get easier?” Our answer…. “no.” It changes but I would have a hard time saying that it is “easier.”
Of course what I think is “hard” is actually all the stuff I will miss when it ends…. bathing, feeding, clothing, and all the “DADDY!!s” I try to constantly remind myself that even wiping dirty bottoms and six minute temper tantrums will one day bring a smile to my lips.
It is not necessary to understand things in order to argue about them.
Pierre Beaumarchais (1732 – 1799)
There are no easy answers’ but there are simple answers. We must have the courage to do what we know is morally right.
